Translating the metaphysical energy of inanimate objects--of nature, heirloom, or treasure. I hope to bring the viewer to viscera so that they can connect to subtle energy, to find presence and peace, or curiosity. And, with curiosity not as a means to understand, or condense, but to rest and remain open. I hope it is received, not explored; felt but not abstracted further by attempting meaning. Connecting to subtle energy is a way to bring deeper awareness, within self and our connection to the world, and the ether.

. . . . . . Cannabis Project . . . . . .

“With working harvest at a commerical cannabis grow, I became accustomed to convening with cannabis in a setting where I didn’t consume it. Here I saw it in its living form. Interacting with plant life has always been part of grounding for me, so I typically feel the spirit of plant life readily. This was no exception--rather, cannabis spoke vibrantly.

I wanted to draw their metaphysical language because commodification brings disconnection in my eyes. From processing to marketing and consuming, I observe a reductionary view of these intelligent life forms as ‘product.’ I believe a sensitization toward the intelligence of different forms of consciousness is essential in healing our world. These four drawings are a testmament to the spirit and aliveness of these plants. My hope is that it brings greater care and reciprocity with this medicine.”
